I'm not accustomed to shieldon but at rapid look the model seems chinese produced but nonetheless priced up there with some US made knives.

Using the newer steels that have fantastic toughness and great edge retention, I'm unsure thicker inventory is even vital, except perhaps for batoning.

Once i get home, cleanse up the knife with some soapy water in addition to a brush, oil up the slipjoint if it is carbon steel and connect with it excellent. And that i go through the similar Best Hunting Knives cleansing method for my fixed blades far too.
